Dr. Victor Chiu Discusses Pancreatic Cancer on Sonoran Living
Dr. Victor Chiu from Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers recently appeared on Sonoran Living to discuss Pancreatic Cancer.
According to Cancer.net, this year, an estimated 62,210 adults (32,970 men and 29,240 women) in the United States will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The disease accounts for approximately 3% of all cancers. Pancreatic cancer is the eighth most common cancer in women and the tenth most common cancer in men. Incidence rates of pancreatic cancer have gone up by around 1% each year since 2000. The pancreases is located behind the lower part of your stomach. Your pancreas releases enzymes that aid digestion and produces hormones that help manage your blood sugar. The cancer is often diagnosed late making it important to treat as soon as possible.
