Ashley R. Brown, DO is a fellowship trained breast surgical oncologist and general surgeon. Dr. Brown is thrilled to join Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in December 2023. Her specialty training provides a well-rounded perspective in the treatment of benign and malignant breast disease. She has a reputation of surgical excellence and performs a wide variety of procedures, with a focus on oncoplastic surgery and hidden scar techniques. Her unique interests include individualized cancer care and the de-escalation of cancer treatment.
Dr. Brown attended the University of Utah and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology with a health emphasis and minors in chemistry and integrative human biology. She then earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Seton Hill in Greensburg, PA. Her general surgery training brought her back West to Phoenix, AZ at Mountain Vista Medical Center. While there she was named Chief Resident and was known for outstanding leadership and surgical skills. Dr. Brown’s passion to specialize in breast cancer care led her to complete fellowship training at Bryn Mawr Hospital, one of the nation’s oldest and most well-regarded training programs, located just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Brown maintains active memberships with surgical societies, such as the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the American College of Surgeons. She regularly attends society meetings to stay current on the latest technology, innovations, and research in breast oncology. Dr. Brown has presented her research at regional and national meetings.
Dr. Brown is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah and enjoys outdoor activities and traveling. Her goal is to visit all the National Parks. Ashley and her husband happily welcomed their first baby boy, Sawyer, in August 2023.
